Lake Fork Black Bass Guide

The Ultimate….
LAKE FORK

Lake Fork is a body of water impounded with Trophy Bass in mind. Located approximately 5 miles west of Quitman, Texas and within 90 miles of Dallas, Texas, Lake Fork holds the lions share of the top 50 Trophy Black Bass caught in the state of Texas. Covering 27,670 acres, Lake Fork is a Black Bass Fisherman’s dream come true. Vast amounts of aquatic vegetation, old road beds, humps and ridges make for the ultimate cover and line busting Black Bass Action one could ask for. Quite simply, Fork is still the ultimate Big Bass Fishery in the country.

Oldfield Outdoors has been fishing Lake Fork’s Trophy Bass waters since the day it opened, with over 20 years of full time guide service offered. Oldfield Outdoors is noted for targeting Trophy Black Bass.

Randy Oldfield is a native to the state of Texas. Born to fish and hunt certainly describe this man to a tee. As an accomplished tournament angler and professional guide, he’s doing what he does best and truly loves. Share his boat for a day and you’ll see why he’s still at it after all these years.

Featured in numerous national magazines, new papers, TV and radio shows, Randy loves sharing his knowledge of the outdoors with folks (here reference Dallas Morning News, Tyler Courier, Bass Masters Magazine, FLW Magazine, Honey Hole Magazine, Texas Fish & Game, Fisherman’s Guide and many others, Fishing East Texas TV, Honey Hole TV, and numerous radio shows and interviews).

Armed with his G Loomis rod and a handful of jigs, there is quite simply none better!

Over the years 3 Trophy Black Bass over 15 lbs have come from Randy’s boat, along with several Black Bass over 14 lbs, a dozen or so over over 13 lbs and boatloads of 10 lb plus giants. It ain’t luck when you can back it up!

Day trips on Lake Fork’s Trophy Bass Waters start in mid January and go thru mid May. Clients can expect every effort to be made for them to catch that Trophy Black Bass of a LIFETIME!

From mid May into Sept Oldfield Outdoors fishes exclusively at night – cooler temps, less pressure make for exciting action. Many of the trophy Black Bass caught by Randy and his customers have come in the summer months, including fish over 15 lbs. (Aug 2006)
